Our Team
Omar Memon - The Mobilizer
My first Urdu teaching venture was in college when Dr. Bradley, a graduate student in Education, reached out to learn Urdu. Ever since then I have been an avid promoter of the Urdu language.
I enjoy teaching the language to my daughters. Seeing them speak in fluent Urdu with not only family but also out and about in the restaurants when we visit Pakistan is priceless!
Mrs. Lubna Adil
I enjoy teaching children and seeing them flourish. I hold a Masters of Mathematics and Computer science from the University of Karachi and have over 15 years of combined classroom and tutoring experience teaching Mathematics in Pakistan and the U.S. I have also taught at our Sunday school in Portland, Oregon and for over 18 years been conducting a Quranic studies Halaqa in Urdu.
I am an avid reader of Urdu poetry books and prose. My favorite poets include Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Ahmad Faraz, Ibn-e-Insha, Ashfaq Ahmed, Qudrat Ullah Sahab, and for Tafseer my favorite writer is Maulana Mudoodi.
At Gateway Urdu, I aspire to teach Urdu to our generation next students and equip them for success in connecting and engaging with their rich heritage and culture.
Ms. Sana Janjua
Ms. Sana joins Gateway Urdu as our Brand Manager and Teacher. She grew up in Saudi Arabia and later moved to Pakistan where she obtained her BSc from U.E.T.
I have delivered lectures on South East Asian Culture at Lake Superior State University, Michigan, and taught and designed classes for the Sunday School in Salina, KS as well as the Sunday Madrassa in St. Louis MO.
My children are my inspiration! While in St. Louis, I spearheaded a team of parents and created the first ever "Prophets themed story night" which activated the kids' brains to learn valuable lessons in a colorful and exciting way.
Now, once again, my children serve as the inspiration to teach Urdu and I want to assist other families that struggle to teach their children Urdu.
Ms. Arfana Naseer
I am a professional Urdu teacher by trait. A graduate of Sindh University, Jamshoro, I have taught Urdu to grades 6th - 10th at H.H. The Prince Karim Agha Khan School and R.R. Memorial Public School. Since 2007, I have been teaching at the Sunday Madrassa in St. Louis.
At Gateway Urdu, I enjoy serving on the Content Review team and seeing my students flourish as they build upon their Urdu skills.
